The Simple Kind of Life

I find that it is also a good counterbalance to all of the time we spend indoors in front of computer screens. It’s like therapy being in the garden because it’s so slow, it doesn’t matter how quickly you can get something done- it is about paying close, minute attention to all the elements that go into the process, you can’t rush it. I sound like such a hippy, but it’s true!
Joy's life seems so chill doesn't it? She runs a salad company (but not just any "salad company" - a business in which she spreads the word about consciously eating well through all natural, local foods). Sometimes I just want to disappear and end up doing something like this. Get a place in the country - preferably the English countryside of course, start writing poetry or painting or playing the guitar, maybe work part time at a coffee shop, definitely start growing a garden, wear heavy cream knits, huge scarves, dirty jeans and sneakers everyday. Be stylish but not in the fashion industry. Be a mix of things and live easy and stay calm. I like the idea of Joy's life. Oh and absolutely invest in a cute bike with a wicker basket at the front. For, you know, flowers and groceries and paint supplies.
